The school was founded in 1991 and currently has 95 students (preschool through 8th grade). It is licensed by the PA State Board of Private Academic Schools. The Head Teachers are state and Montessori certified.
Montessori Children's Community offers children the opportunity to learn through an interdisciplinary curriculum that is based on a broad and complete course of academic study. Based on each child's level of individual readiness, the school's curriculum includes everyday living skills, large and small motor skills, sensory development, reading, grammar, creative writing, spelling, handwriting, basic and advanced mathematics, geography, history, science, Spanish, computer education, art, music, and physical education. Following Dr. Maria Montessori's philosophy, the Montessori Children's Community provides carefully prepared learning environments that will stimulate your child's intellect, and encourage optimal learning.
The extremely dedicated staff is highly trained. In addition to having Bachelors degrees, many hold Masters degrees along with Montessori certification. Here students have the freedom to learn as individuals in an innovative and collaborative learning environment.
