QVHS Junior Honored for Her Artwork

Congratulations to QVHS Junior Hannah Ashburn who won a gold key, a silver key and an honorable mention at the the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Hannah was honored for her drawing and paintings. Her selected gold key work will automatically move on to national level and she will be eligible to receive additional awards and scholarships.
 
Hannah won a the gold key for a perspective drawing and a silver key from a water color painting of Chinatown in San Fransisco and an honorable mention for her ink blot painting of a shoe.
 
Hannah's art teachers Mr. Jeremy Pidhirny and Mrs. Nina Strelec wish her luck at the national level!
 
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards have recognized the vision ingenuity and talent of students from 1923. Each year thousands of teens submit original works to juried exhibitions around the country. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating exceptional art and literary talent. Nearly 350,000 works of art and writing were submitted this year alone.
