QVHS Black Student Union Organizes Reading Event for Elementary Students

Quaker Valley High School students are helping to celebrate Black History Month by reading stories to students in grades K-3. Organized by QVHS student Malcolm Jordan, high school students visited Osborne Elementary School on Friday, February 21, with some of their favorite children's books. The Black Student Union sponsor, Mr. Floyd Faulkner, says the goal of the event is to help spread awareness about the importance of Black History Month.
Throughout February classroom lessons, artwork, music lessons, and events are themed around Black History Month. Students from the QVHS Black Student Union will read to Edgeworth Elementary Students the week of February 24. Click here to view a slideshow of some recent Black History Month activities.
