The District understands that a virtual ceremony is not the same as the traditional event, but plan to make it as special and unique as possible for our seniors as they deserve to be celebrated. We appreciate that coming together in person as a graduating senior class is important to our students. Therefore, we look forward to scheduling a celebratory event for the Class of 2020 once it is deemed safe and permissible to come together in a large gathering.
Virtual Commencement for Class of 2020
The Class of 2020 Virtual Commencement ceremony will be made available via Quaker Valley School District’s YouTube channel on Thursday, June 4th at 7 p.m. A specific link will be shared prior to the virtual ceremony. We encourage our seniors to wear their graduation regalia (cap and tassel, gown, and gold cord if applicable) on the evening of June 4th and to celebrate with your families, just as you would for an in-person celebration. As part of the virtual graduation ceremony, we will announce the name of every senior, and Dr. Tammy Andreyko, Superintendent of Schools, will direct seniors to turn their tassels and pronounce them graduated.
We are hopeful that we’ll be able to come together in the future to recognize the accomplishments of the seniors and share in the culmination of years of hard work. The District, along with QVHS faculty and staff, plan on honoring the seniors with some special events and gifts as we wrap up the school year.
