Quaker Valley has received more than $84,000 for school safety. The grant money is part of the Safe Schools Targeted Grant program.
In total, QVSD will receive a $19,800 program grant, a $24,522 equipment grant, and a $40,000 school police officer grant.
The program funding will be used for student safety programming such as ALICE training and can include creating training modules for behavioral health awareness, trauma-informed education, suicide prevention, and emergency training drills.
Equipment funding will go toward door entry security and software.
The School Police money will help offset salary costs for the QVSD Police.
