Quaker Valley School Board Votes to Hire High School Architect

“This is a major step forward for this project, which has been decades in the making,” says School Board President Jonathan Kuzma. “We are thrilled to bring on the team of BSHM/BCJ and work with their experts in the field to design an amazing facility for this community.”

“The BSHM/BCJ team is excited for this opportunity to work with Quaker Valley on their new school. Our team values the understanding and input of community and place. We are passionate about the education and future of your students and the QV family. We look forward to starting this collaborative process,” adds BSHM Vice-President John Orsini.

On May 25, the Board heard from two finalists, BSHM/BCJ and Stantec. At the Tuesday, June 8, meeting the Board voted unanimously to select BSHM/BCJ. Both presentations were available to the public and had more than 1,300 views on YouTube.

“We are grateful to this community for taking an active role in the selection of an architect. We will continue to engage our Quaker Valley community as this project moves forward. The families that make up this special district will have a role to play as we develop our high school for the next century,” adds Superintendent Dr. Tammy Andreyko.

“The School Board has worked very hard, engaging some of the best and brightest professionals in the development of a new high school facility. Our team’s efforts over the last decade have been deliberate. We have asked questions, gathered input from our community, visited other districts; we have met with other administrations and Board members from other districts to better apprise ourselves of the challenges and pitfalls of undoubtedly the largest investment of our district within the last thirty years,” says Facility Committee Chairman Gianni Floro.

The first step with BSHM/BCJ will be to introduce the team to the Quaker Valley community this summer. You can learn more by visiting www.bshm-architects.com and  www.bcj.com.
