High School football players, cheerleaders, band members, and color guard participated in pep rallies across the District on Friday, September 29, visiting each of the buildings as an opportunity to ramp up school spirit prior to the Homecoming Game.
Students were then invited to participate in the Homecoming Parade from the High School to the football field prior the game on September 29. They were also able to stand with the band, cheerleaders, and colorguard to welcome the football team to the field during pregame. This was organized by the building HSAs.
The QVSD 2022 Homecoming King and Queen were announced during half-time of the Homecoming game on September 29, 2021. Congratulations to William Musial and Mia Hrabovsky! The Quakers went on to defeat the Hopewell Vikings 38-30.
Will is a four year member of Cross Country, Cultural Alliance and the Quaker Quill. He is also a member of Bittersweet and the QV Musical. Will's favorite QV memory is the dress rehearsal for "The Little Mermaid." His favorite class is concert choir with Mr. Wolford. In his down time, Will works at the Sewickley Public Library and listens to music and reads. Next year, Will plans to attend a four year college. In 10 years, he hopes to be teaching and enjoying time outside.
Mia is a four year member of the swim and track teams and the Quaker Valley Marching Band. She is also a rower with Three Rivers Rowing and participates in swimming and pickle ball with the Special Olympics. After graduation from Quaker Valley, Mia hopes to attend Slippery Rock University's Rock Life Program. In her down time, Mia enjoys playing video games, volunteering with Light of Life Ministries and hanging out with her dog, Maggie. Mia's favorite QV teacher is Mr. Brindza.
The Homecoming Dance was held at Chuck Knox Stadium on September 30 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Students were able to dance, play yard games like Can Jam and cornhole, partake in a variety of food trucks, and generally enjoy a great time with friends. Cathy Muraco, co-sponsor of Student Council, shared that approximately 430 students were in attendance.
