Two Quaker Valley teams, representing Edgeworth and Osborne Elementary Schools, competed in the Science Bowl held at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History on Friday, February 23, 2024. Quaker Valley students completed preliminary in-class competitions to qualify to attend the Science Bowl. The following teams represented QV:
- Edgeworth Elementary fifth graders: Martina Osofsky, Mia Casker, Jack Turan, and Darius Behboudi
- Osborne Elementary fifth graders: Gavin Muretisch, Agnes Picarsic, Nora Sheridan, and Sam Tetlow
Each team completed three different challenges, including Mystery Rocks and Minerals in the Foster Overlook, Diorama Discovery in the Hall of Wildlife, and the Dino Design Challenge in the Dinosaurs in their Time exhibit. Teams also had the opportunity to explore additional exhibits in the museum galleries.
Congratulations to the Edgeworth team, who earned a 3rd place finish at the event, and the Osborne team, who earned a 2nd place finish. Way to go Quaker Valley!
