Congratulations 2025 National Merit Scholarship Commended Students and Semi-Finalists

Six Quaker Valley High School students have been commended or named semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship ProgramĀ®.

Those seniors named semi-finalists are part of the 16,000 named across the country and will have the opportunity to compete for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million. They represent the top 1% of scorers in the nation.

Students are named semifinalists based on their PSAT scores from their junior year, which serve as the initial screening program. The national pool of semifinalists is less than one percent of all U.S. high school seniors. Semifinalists must then submit a detailed scholarship application in which they share details related to their academic records, school and community involvement, leadership, employment, and other honors and awards.

National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced between April and July of 2025.

Semi-Finalists: Ryan Steinfurth, Sam Whitacre, Henry Zutter

Commended Students: Kwilai Karto, George Lin, Jack Miller
