The Quaker Valley School District is pleased to announce that it has made a significant step forward in its commitment to construct a new state-of-the-art high school to serve its students and staff for generations to come.
On Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at a special meeting, the Leet Township Board of Commissioners granted Preliminary and Final Land Development Approval for the new Quaker Valley high school project with conditions. The vote was a unanimous 5-0. This approval by the Board of Commissioners is a significant milestone and brings the District one step closer to realizing the vision of providing a modern, accessible, and innovative educational facility for students and staff.
The Leet Township Planning Commission previously recommended, following the completion of a thorough and extensive review process, that the Board of Commissioners grant such approval for the new high school project.
The Quaker Valley School District has worked diligently with community members, architects, and various stakeholders to ensure that the new high school meets the needs of the community and complies with required ordinances, laws, and regulations. The new campus will include modern classrooms, enhanced facilities, and flexible spaces designed to foster a safe and innovative learning environment.
The District previously obtained final zoning approval for the project in January 2024.
The next steps in the project include finalizing construction details, securing additional approvals and permits contingent upon this approval.
Prior to breaking ground, the District will seek to hire a construction manager and complete the bidding process as governed by state and federal regulations for school districts. Further updates will be provided to the community as the project progresses toward the groundbreaking phase.
