QV Students Compete in the 2024 History Bowl

Eight Quaker Valley teams competed in the annual History Bowl at the Senator John Heinz History Center sponsored by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit on Tuesday, December 3,  2024. 

Quaker Valley students completed preliminary try-outs to qualify to attend the History Bowl and competed in two divisions: grades 4-5 and grades 6-8. 

While exploring the History Center, each team completed four challenges.  Students needed to find answers to questions, think and write creatively, and solve problems.  The exhibits they explored included: the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, Heinz Exhibit, How Women Shaped Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh: A Tradition of Innovations. 

Congratulations to the three teams of students who placed in the competitions:

*First Place: Adara Carrillo, Tillie Holte, Lily McClain, and Julianna Vescio from the Middle School.

*Second Place: Collin Lovell, Logan Kobert, James Burns, and Liam Cudzik from Edgeworth.

*Third Place: Sydney Kusick, Conor Hart, Alex Ross, and Harry May from Edgeworth.

  • Middle School: Charlie Burns, Lincoln Liao, Gavin Lindenmann, and Owen Weisberg.
