Quaker Valley Class of 1988 graduate, Dr. Josh Green, was recently elected to serve as the Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii. From 2004 to 2008, Dr. Green served in the Hawaii State House of Representatives, and since 2008 has served in the State Senate as Chair of the Health Committee Chair of the Human Services Committee.
“My Quaker Valley education provided a perfect foundation to become both a physician and ultimately the Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii," says Green. "I intend to be a humanitarian and focus on chronic homelessness, the opioid crisis and gun violence as a public health concern. Without great high school mentors like Gene Klein, Ed Schroth, and Pete Lanza, and early educators like Diane McCabe and my kindergarten teacher Miss Locke, I would have never achieved these goals.”
While at Quaker Valley, Dr. Green was one of four valedictorians. In 2009, he was named Hawaii Physician of the Year.

Dr. Green and his wife Jaime have a 10 year-old daughter Maia and 6 year-old son Sam.
