Two Quaker Valley teams, representing Edgeworth and Osborne Elementary Schools competed in the Science Bowl at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Quaker Valley students completed preliminary in-class competitions to qualify to attend the Science Bowl. The teams that represented QV were:
Edgeworth Elementary: fifth graders August Chenetski, Ian Lorang, Cambria Roser, and Alex Tait
Osborne Elementary: fifth graders Tadhg Hamill, Deanna Morgan, Jonah Schollaert, and Oumou Theiro
Each team completed three different challenges including Geology Lab, Dino Detectives, and Reptiles Scavenger Hunt. The Osborne Elementary team took third place in the grades 4-5 division.
The event is sponsored by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and is open to students in grades 4-8 throughout the region.
