District Technology Overview
At Quaker Valley, laptop and desktop computers, iPads, and a variety of technology, such as electronic whiteboards and projectors, are used as tools to enhance and facilitate learning and assessment. Computer Science and Technology instruction is provided to all students K-8 and as electives in grades 9-12. Computer labs are also available to students and staff in each building. Classrooms are equipped with screens and projectors. A high-speed wireless network and networked laser printers exist in all buildings across the district.
Students in grades K-12 are issued an iPad to use at school and at home for both live classes and asynchronous learning. In addition, learning support teachers utilize a variety of iPad apps with their students.
The Quaker Valley School Board in 2019 approved a technology plan to continue its one-to-one initiative for students in grades 6-12 using Apple iPad tablets, and in 2020 approved iPads for grades K-5 as well. In addition, the elementary and middle school computer labs are equipped with MacBook Air laptops, and the two high school labs are equipped with Dell PC desktop computers.
